This winning image, by Roy Rimmer, is of a wild brown rat leaping from one rusted paint can to another. It took first place in the Mammal Society's annual photo competition intended to challenge misconceptions regarding misunderstood animals in Britain. I can't think of any animal more misunderstood that the rat, so this is a well deserved win and a fine photograph. To see all the winning entries, check out the article.
